Comments: To those who knew Ronald Eugene James, My name is Jensen James, I am a student in seminole Oklahoma. We are studying the Vietnam era; our goal is to see through the eyes of those involved and through the eyes of the observers who documented that era. We also are synthesizing several sources into a documented biographical essay and multimedia memorial of the honored United States soldier assigned. Through our memorials, we will create our own 'Virtual Vietnam Experience' commemorating those that served their country in a time of need. In hopes of capturing the true essence of Ronald, I ask for the help of those that knew him. Please email me back if you are willing to answer some questions over this time and Ronald. I understand for any reason, this subject is not to be broached. Sincerely, Jensen James 405-584-1615
Comments: Hank, it is an honor for ASA (America Supporting Americans) to represent your young brothers (OEF) today, the elite unit of the Scouts/Snipers. They are presently hooked up with one of ASA's awesome youth groups Warren Lacrosse. They will be supporting them with care packages, letters, etc. The kids are excited and their Coach has made contact with SGT Clausing. Lastly, I had the priviledge of meeting and spending some time with a few of your Tigers in '68 at Camp Eagle when I went their for Christmas to visit my brother's unit A/1-327 representing the City of San Mateo, CA who adopted his unit as you know. Hope some of your brother warriors will visit our global website www.asa-usa.org to see where that first city adoption March 4, 1968 brought us to ASA. San Mateo celebrated the Welcome Home they gave their adopted unit in Jan. 1972 - 40 Year Anniversary last Memorial many original adopted troopers came out for the event marching along side their young brothers 3 days the adopted cities honored them as the heroes they are - Documentary Film DVD beginning with the Vietnam War to the present www.citywithaheart.net shows support for our soldiers past & present.. ABU Sis, Linda NOTE FROM HANK: The final adoption will probably go ahead soon, with a City suggested by, and already vetted by Linda. This is a great idea, and is really needed. God Bless Linda for her work supporting the units in the 327 Infantry.

Comments: Hello everyone. My name is Mike Kettles and I am trying to located Tiger Force and 327th Infantry personnel who were present on 15 May 1967 in the Song Tra Cau riverbed ambush. The reason is to support a Valor award reconsideration for Major Kettles, a pilot in the 176th AHC who led an emergency extraction of personnel from the riverbed in the late afternoon. In addition I was hoping to speak with ground force personnel who could help explain how the events of that day unfolded. There is some information in the book Six Silent Men (Book One) beginning on page 165. There is also a mention in the book Tiger Force (widely panned as a waste of paper) on page 15. I also want to thank to Hank Ortega, Dewey Smith and John Neely for their help to date. It’s been a humbling experience researching this event and communicating with the men who served our country so long ago. Mike Kettles 11614 Valleydale Drive Dallas, TX 75230 (214) 691-9131

Comments: Might any one of you gentlemen know of my father? Robert J. Ward. Medic. 1965-66. Carried a shotgun. Called Doc, (like every other medic) or Red. From Milwaukee, WI. Would mean alot to me, his daughter. Thanks.
Comments: All respect to the Tiger Force Team, your the best .
Comments: I retired from the Army 2002. Just read a book about Tiger Force. Should have been there with those guys, but wasn't. A good friend of mine son is with Tiger Force(Sniper) and was deployed to Afganistan in November. Stay safe! HOOAH!
Comments: Good Afternoon. I wanted to let all of you know that my father has been impersonating Lew Legat for years. His facebook account is full of tiger force recon 67 pictures and he tells everyone that it is him in the picture when in fact, it's Lew Legat. It is heartbreaking to find this out, for my father convinced me my whole life that this was the truth. I think he should be reprimanded and held accountable for taking someone's identity..not to mention how sick it is. You can see for yourself on FB...just look for Bill Foyt.
Comments: Sure is nice to see there are a few of us alive. Time flies. My memory isn't the best anymore but when most of the names mentioned it comes back. Hope everyone has a good holiday season.
Comments: I'm the son of SFC JOEL WOOD ('66)if anybody remembers him. Or if anybody can forget him . A little late but Pop died in '97. I didn't find this website until recently. If anybody has any interesting stories about my father, I'd love to hear them. I can be reached at weswood@classicnet.net
Comments: Hi Roger Phillips Sr . Your memory is a whole lot better than mine but good to hear from you and at least that you remember me. Did I do something so bad ! I bet I would remmber you well if I saw you .Ellis Goad was a good friend of mine and I know for sure he went back to the US whole an hearty fortunately. I was with him back in the rear after Dat To with gut trouble and then I did another year in the Nam but not with TF. Names that stick in my mind are Tom Day Charlie Evans both of who I have contact with, Emil Burmeister occasional contact. I know Higginbottom and Denis Foley are still going strong but I have not had contact with them for a while. Other names are recall Hanakie, Fowler, Clark , Terry Grey , Holbook, Farris Hamilton (Medic), Crawley, Seguin and a few more. Stay well Ian
Comments: I was at Dak To with tiger Force in june 1966. I am still in touch with some of those (the Few) that remain. Tom Day, Charlie Evans, Emil Burmeister and (not for a while ) Lewis Higginbottom, Denis Foley.Good men all. Am grateful you came along when you did ! I went back to Tou Morong about 3 years ago . It was a strange feeling, some 40 years + like somewhere else in time but the memories were still there as were all those who I was privileged to fight with. I try and get back to Vietnam every year but I will not got to TM again. Those memories will always remain with me but I can let them rest. I live now in Israel so it is not easy to make the reunion though quite frankly all the hassle I would have to go through to get to the US now .... and then there is the TSA ! From Hank in reply: Thanks Ian, best wishes and God Bless.
Comments: Hi - Does anyone remember Me 1969?

The losses of friends you suffered and willingly kept up the fight and took it to the enemy, You guys are the best this country can produce! I read every story, thank you, I'm proud of you all! I wish I could meet all of you and have the honor of shaking your hands.
Comments: Hank, great seeing you again last week! I'd love to talk more about the Tiger Force project we talked about. Drop me a line if you want to pursue it. Take care, Jim Page
Comments: Gentlemen, this is my first visit, and am glad to stop by. I am not a former member of the Tiger Force, but proud to make your acquaintance, indeed. I am an old Snake Eating Green Beret, as is my oldest son. He retired in 1996, twenty years after I served proudly for 26 years. My Nam time was with MACVSOG in the C and C Program, from FOB1 (67-68) and FOB2 (68-69). We too, shared in your history for producing MOH Recipients, DSC, SS, and a multitude of BS and PH scattered all over the spectrum. We also produced several Genera Officers, a couple from the Ranks, who rose up to become LTG, one also became the Army's CoS twice. All had served as the CG of SF and SOCOM at one time or another. Many Kudos on your site here, it is a distinct work of art...Ringo Sends Respectfully Submitted, for your consideration: http://sfac82.org/ Jim Ringland aka: Ringo First Sergeant (Retired) Special Forces/Special Operations
Comments: Simply signing on. Hi Hank, Is this your doing, It's good. I'd also like to talk with Goethe. White Rabbit & his RTO Mike Aschenbrenner |
